Arras Occasional Table
Description
A beautiful Arras occasional table.
We're always pleased to find Arras furniture. When we purchased this appealing occasional table, the first thing we did was to carefully remove the layer of brilliant white gloss paint. This revealed a fantastic patina with vivid traces of the original orange and red paints. The result is a really striking little table!
It is made from the Arras semi-hollow steel tubing, and is a typical Grassin Baledans piece from this period as it has the distinctive claw feet. The lion's paw feet look great - and also have the practical function of preventing the table from sinking into the grass!
These days, you may prefer not to stand it on your lawn, but use it in a garden room or conservatory.
French, circa 1870.
Height:68cm; Diameter:50cm
