A very attractive lead cistern from the 16th century. The lead is in good condition and the seams at the base and in the sides are both solid. The lead features on both sides a decorative scene with a group of cherubs pushing a cart amongst a crowd with another cherub on the cart perhaps holding a torch. Our photos depict both sides of the cistern with one slightly lighter than the other probably due to fading from the sun. An outstanding decorative item in its own right that would also look fantastic when used for floral displays.
