A 19th century pair of faux bois planters in good condition.
Faux bois means “fake wood” and comes from a technique used since the Renaissance to imitate natural-looking wood. Craftsmen called “Rocailleurs” used materials including cement to create the effect and iron materials to form the shape.
Standing on four branch-like legs, these planters look wonderful planted and would be a superb addition to your conservatory, patio or garden.
