A very large and attractive Olivette Jar was made in the village of Tornac in the south of France in the mid 19th century. This jar which has a beautiful green glaze would have originally been used to store olives or olive oil. They are now used as authentic decorative pieces in their own right or as planters for small tree and shrubs.
