18th Century Round Biot Jar
Description
A stunning unusually round 18th-century biot jar. "Biot" is a style of pottery which dates back to the 16th century, named for their town of origin, near Cannes in the south of France. These storage jars are distinctive for their shape and for the drips of glaze tumbling down them, known as "mother-in-laws' tears" and have been used to store flour or olives and other foodstuffs for centuries. This one would make a fantastic centrepiece inside the house or in the garden.
