19th Century Fauteuil
Description
This stunning early 19th century fauteuil caught our eye in Paris as potentially being a real centrepiece. It has a charming patina and is in its original white paintwork.
All joints are fixed with clips as it was handmade prior to the widespread use of welding or riveting. The metal would therefore have been heated and twisted to form the rope shaped legs and the decorative features. It has a hand punched mesh seat.
Although this is a garden armchair it would look quite at home in a conservatory or add real character and contrast to a room.
French, circa 1860.
Height: 90cm Width:45cm Depth:37cm
